Honolulu, Oahu (Embark Day – 11 PM Sail Away)
You don’t just show up, check in, and start sipping umbrella drinks — nah, you’ve got time to get wet before the boat even leaves. So you should arrive at least the day before (preferably two )and we'll have a host hotel and put together the transfers and the dive trips.
Oahu’s all about wrecks: YO-257, Sea Tiger, San Pedro… it’s like an underwater graveyard for ships that partied too hard. Toss in some turtles, and you’ve got yourself a proper pre-cruise warm-up.
🌴 Kahului, Maui (Arrive 7 AM – Overnight – Depart 5 PM Next Day)
This is your jackpot stop. You’ve got two whole days, which in dive terms means “don’t screw this up.” You have the option to do two days of diving. Remember you will still have time to see the port in the afternoon.
Day 1: Hit Molokini Crater — water so clear you’ll start checking if your mask is even on.
Day 2: Scoot over to Lanai Cathedrals — lava caves with stained-glass lighting Mother Nature designed herself.
Go with: Maui Dive Shop for Molokini, or Extended Horizons if you want eco-cool guides and Lanai caverns. Lahaina Divers works too if you like bigger boats. Bonus: you still get afternoons free to practice your mai tai stamina. 🍹
Kona, Big Island (7 AM – 5 PM)
Everyone raves about the manta night dive — but guess what? Your ship’s pulling out before the mantas clock in for work. So you’ll have to settle for Kona’s lava tubes, arches, and reefs. Don’t pout — it’s still one of the coolest dives in Hawaii. Dolphins sometimes crash the party just to remind you it’s not SeaWorld.
We will book the early AM trip, and you’ll still be back in time for poke bowls and a nap before sail away.
🌴 Hilo, Big Island (7 AM – 3 PM)
Since this is a short stop we may not dive. This is the one port where we sometimes swap wetsuits for waterfalls.
If you wish to dive, just book the first boat out and you’ll still have time to Instagram Rainbow Falls before sail away.
This is the Game Plan
Honolulu – Wrecks & turtles, then party like you earned it.
Maui – Double down: Molokini ➡️ Day 1, Lanai ➡️ Day 2.
Kona – Lava tubes and arches for the win (sorry, mantas).
Hilo – Dive if you must, but waterfalls + rum might win this round.
⚡Bottom line: If you’re picking where to blow bubbles and where to just drink them out of a glass, Maui + Kona are your “must-dos.” Honolulu’s a great pre-game, and Hilo? Well… Hilo’s that friend who’s fun, but you don’t mind skipping if you’re tired.
Ohhh French Polynesia — now we’re talking real bucket list bubble-blowing.
🌴 Bora Bora (10 AM – 8 PM)
Late arrival, but who cares — Bora Bora is basically Photoshop IRL. You’re diving in an aquarium with the volume turned up. Think lemon sharks, blacktips, eagle rays, and coral gardens that look like someone spilled a box of Skittles. Afternoon dives are common here, so you’re golden, and they’ll have you back in time to sip something fruity on deck before sail away.
🌺 Raiatea (7 AM – 5 PM)
Underrated gem. Raiatea shares a lagoon with Tahaa, so you get double the coral for half the hassle. Expect drift dives with sharks, turtles, and lush coral gardens. Not as famous as Bora Bora, but sometimes less hype = more wow.
Cruise fit: Perfect for an AM two-tank — back by lunch with enough time to grab a Hinano beer.
🐬 Moorea (7 AM – 5 PM)
Moorea is basically “shark central.” Lemon sharks, blacktips, sometimes grey reefs — they all RSVP. The viz here? Chef’s kiss. You’ll also get lush canyons and hard coral slopes. This is one of those ports where you’ll surface grinning like a fool.
Cruise fit: Easy AM two-tank — you’ll still have time for a quick scooter ride or beach flop before the ship blows its horn.
🌺 Papeete, Tahiti (7 AM Disembark)
You’re not diving here unless you stay post-cruise (and you should). We are staying at least 2 days longer...a day to dive and a day to fly out. Tahiti’s got solid drift dives, wrecks, and sharky passes if you have the time.
The Game Plan
Bora Bora – Sharks, rays, coral gardens = YES. Afternoon dive = easy.
Raiatea – Drift dives, turtles, coral galore. Quietly awesome.
Moorea – Shark city. Don’t miss it.
Papeete – Dive if you’re staying longer; You probably are not coming back so why save it for the next trip.
Bottom line: French Polynesia is like diving in Technicolor. If Hawaii is a solid 8, this place cranks the dial to 11. Sharks are practically in the welcome committee, coral is alive and well, and viz will make you swear off murky Caribbean shore dives forever.
